INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Login (if you’ve registered before) or Register (if this is your first time at checkoutmycover.com) by clicking the "Login" or "Register" buttons below the "Check Out My Cover" logo.
2) To create a your own SURFER cover, click "Create New Cover" in the top right navigation.
3) When this page loads, start by clicking on the "add photo" icon in top left. Now you have two options: A) Use your own images or B) Use the already uploaded "Gallery Images".
To create a cover using your own images
a) Click on red "Upload My Photo" box
b) When "Load File" dialogue box appears click on "browse"
c) A "File Upload" box appears (PC Only). On Macs, a "File Upload Form" will appear, click "Choose File" on the left side. Browse your computer for the image you want on your cover
d) Select it with your mouse and Click "Open" at the bottom of the "File Upload" box
e) Now, in the "Load File" box click on the "continue" button
To create a cover using "Gallery Images"
a) Click on the "choose graphics set" drop down
b) Select graphics set you wish to pick your image from. Example: "Vans Gallery"
c) Click on the image you want.
d) Click on "ok"
4) You can resize the photo by moving the "Scale Image" bar or by clicking on the photo clicking and dragging one corner of the photo. You can move the photo by clicking and dragging the photo.
5) Add text to the cover by clicking the "Add Text" button and click on the cover where you want the text. To type the text, click inside the text box you created.
6) Change the color of the "SURFER" logo by clicking the "Logo Color" button and clicking a color from the box that appears.
7) You can draw any shape you want with the "Pencil Tool" (second button down on the left side tool bar), draw straight lines with the "Line Tool" (third button down on the left side, a green line). Change the color of the line by selecting the line, then clicking the colored rectangle at the top right of the page next to "line" and selecting a color from the box that appears. Draw circles with the "Circle Tool" (fourth button down on the left side, a green circle), by clicking the "Circle Tool" button, then clicking and dragging your cursor where you want the circle. Draw rectangles with the "Rectangle Tool" (fifth button on the left side, a green rectangle) by clicking the "Rectangle Tool" button, then clicking and dragging your cursor where you want the rectangle. To change the color of the lines of the circles or rectangles by selecting the circle or rectangle, then clicking the colored rectangle at the top right of the page next to "line" and selecting a color from the box that appears. To change the color of the inside of the circle or rectangle, select the circle or rectangle, then click the colored rectangle at the top right of the page next to "fill" and selecting a color from the box that appears. To create only the outline of a circle or rectangle, click on the check box next to "fill" so that there is not a check mark in the box, then click on the Circle or Rectangle button and click and drag your circle or rectangle.
8) To delete any item click the "Delete" button (trash can icon) at the top of the page.
9) To undo or redo any action, click the "Undo" or "Redo" buttons (arrow icons, next to the Delete button) at the top of the page.
10) If you have multiple pictures on your cover you can use the tools on the lower left side to move pictures on top of each other or down or up one level. To bring a picture to the front, click on that picture, then click the button on the left side that has an orange square at the top ("Bring selected item to the front," sixth button down on the left). To send a picture to the back of other pictures, click on the picture and then click on the button that has an orange square at the bottom ("Send selected items to the back," seventh button down on the left). To move a photo in front of another photo but not all the way to the front click on the button that has an orange square in the middle and a green arrow pointing up ("Move selected items up one step," eighth button down on the left). To move a photo behind another photo but not all the way to the back, click on the button that has an orange square in the middle and a green arrow pointing down ("Move selected items down one step," ninth button down on the left).
11) To change where the Vans Logo is, click the circle next to "Left" or "Right" on the right side of your screen under "Vans Logo Placement."
12) To save your cover, click the "Save" button (a disk icon) at the top.
13) To e-mail or print your cover click the Email/Print button at the top (envelope icon). To print, click the red "Print my cover" button on the left side of the window that appears. To e-mail your cover, enter your name, e-mail address, and the name and e-mail address of the person you’re sending the cover to in the right side of the window that appears.
14) To exit, click the "Exit" button on the left side (tenth button down, a door icon with a green arrow). Remember to save your work before exiting or your cover will be lost. |
